Easter Chick Amigurumi Pattern



During the Easter season baby chicks, bunnies, and ducklings are often bought as cuddly spring gifts - but many do not realize that these fragile babies need special care and are deserving of forever homes instead of being a seasonal fad. Crochet this cute little chick and gift one to your family and friends to celebrate the arrival of spring!


Materials

Crochet Hook: H/8 - 5mm
Yellow yarn
2 black beads for eyes
Orange felt
Stuffing
Stitch marker
Hot glue gun or thread to sew
Small flower or bow

Body

Start: Magic loop 5 dc or chain 2 and 5 dc in second chain from hook. This chick is worked in the round so that there are no seams. Be sure to use your stitch marker to count stitches.

Row 1: 2 sc in each dc (10 sc)
Row 2: 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in second sc, repeat (15 sc)
Row 3: 1 sc in each sc (15)
Row 4: 1sc in each sc (15)
Row 5: 1 sc in each sc (15)
Row 6: 1 sc in each sc (15)
Row 7: 1 sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in third sc, repeat (20)
Row 8: 1 sc in first 3 sc, 2 sc in fourth sc, repeat (25)
Row 9: 1 sc in first 4 sc, 2 sc in fifth sc, repeat (30)
Row 10: 1 sc in each sc (30)
Row 11: 1 sc in each sc (30)
Row 12: 1 sc in each sc (30)
Row 13: 1 sc in first 4 sc, decrease 2 sc, repeat (25)
Row 14: 1 sc in first 3 sc, decrease 2 sc, repeat (20)
Row 15: 1 sc in first 2 sc, decrease 2 sc, repeat (15)
Row 16: 1 sc in first sc, decrease 2 sc (10)
Row 17: decrease 2 sc, repeat (5)

Tie off end and sew together the bottom using hanging yarn after stuffing body.

Wing - Make 2

Start: Chain 2 and crochet 4 sc in second chain from hook.
Row 1: 2sc in each sc (8sc)
Row 2: 1 sc in each sc (8)
Row 3: 1 sc in each sc (8)
Row 4: 1 sc in each sc (8)
Row 5: 1 sc in each sc (8)
Row 6: 1 sc in each sc (8)

Tie off ends and leave extra yarn at the end to sew wings onto side of chick.
Super glue or sew flower, eyes, and beak to chick.

  1. This is the cutest one I have seen. I wish you had a video tutorial, I am a beginner and cant read a pattern that well. I would love to make a little chick family. Great job.
